Group Program Common Ground x FFAH

Term 3 weekly group

Join us at Common Ground Project for an immersive 8‑week occupational therapy group program designed to build practical life skills, confidence and community connection through hands‑on learning in the kitchen, garden and natural environment.

This program supports participants to develop meaningful everyday skills while working together in a supportive, therapeutic setting. Across the eight weeks, participants will explore:

  • Food preparation, hygiene and safe food‑handling practices

  • Kitchen safety awareness and safe use of equipment

  • Understanding different foods, their origins and cultural significance

  • Planting, growing and caring for food crops

  • Safe use of basic farming and gardening tools

  • Learning about biodiversity and the local environment

  • Working collaboratively with others

  • Building teamwork, communication and social skills

Guided by qualified occupational therapists, the program blends practical activities with therapeutic strategies to promote independence, wellbeing and meaningful participation.
